Co-Sleeping

Hello, fellow co-sleeper here. I know co-sleeping is such a wish washy subject. Half of the world feels one way and the other half feels another. Personally I am all for co-sleeping, I think the benefits are great if done properly. I have co-slept with Jaliyah since she was a couple months old until, well, now. Every once in awhile she slept in her crib but not on a regular basis. Not only did this create an amazing bond between the two of us but it just worked for us. I am a single working mother and waking up in the middle of the night was just not what I wanted to do when I had to get up the next morning for work. Co-sleeping worked for us.

Fast forward 2 years later and it's time she sleeps on her own. However, the consequences I am facing for co-sleeping suck. She gets soooooooo excited for her "big girl bed" and loves going up stairs to look at it, jump on it, lay on it but as soon as it is "night night" time in her "big girl bed" - hell breaks loose. At this point the crying it out method is not going to work because she can simply get out of the bed. So we are stuck between a rock and a hard place now. I know it's time for us to seperate, I think we will both get much better sleep at this point. What did you do when you stopped co-sleeping?
