Elisha's Essentials

One of the things that is almost near impossible to avoid when having a baby - diaper rash! How NOT fun..Jaliyah did not get her first diaper rash until a little after 2 months. I used just a regular, popular brand of cream which seemed to work pretty well and the rash was gone within a week. The diaper rash returned a few weeks later and at her DR appt, he prescribed her a prescription strength cream. That was recently, and I have been using this cream for about 7 days-ish. It did help a little bit but the rash was definitely still noticeable.

So..we were upstairs for bath-time and I did not have the DR cream upstairs with us so I just reached for...

After 2 uses of the Butt Paste - her rash is completely 100% gone!! It worked better then the prescription diaper cream. I had heard about Butt Paste before and got some at my baby shower, but now I can say for myself - I'll never use anything but the Butt Paste. Plus..the name is way cute.

Elisha's Essentials

As some of you know, as I continue on my adventure of being a new mommy, I am finding things that I think are must-have's - this is what I call Elisha's Essentials. Well..found a new one!

This stuff is amazing. Jaliyah had terrible dry skin on her face by her ears and eyebrows. I kept catching myself picking at it (i hate pealy skin). I tried regular baby lotions and those would help in the moment but not long term. A friend of mine told me to get some Baby Aquaphor and try that.

Oh my gosh, I love it! I put it on all the really dry spots (even her cradle cap!) and it immediately started working. Within 3 days all her dry skin was gone and I haven't needed it on those spots again :) It's a really thick consistency so you don't need a ton either. It can also work double triple duty and be used as diaper rash cream and lotion on momma's legs (I used it after shaving, my legs are sooooo soft)! I picked mine up at Walgreens for about $6.99, I know you can get it at any drug store/Wal-Mart/Meijer.

Elisha's Essentials

I am going to start posting posts of things I have found to be essential in day to day mommy life. I am a first time mom and discovering these must-haves is something I'd love to share with everyone. This will be my second post (the first was the Always Clean Pacifier).

The Munchkin Bag Dispenser clips onto your diaper bag and is easy to reach for. I have found when I go to other peoples houses, I don't want to throw a smelly diaper in their garbage for them to smell. The bags that come in the dispenser are deodorized to mask the smell of those wonderful surprises then I feel more comfortable throwing the diaper away or just popping it back in my diaper bag to throw away at home.

I have found that the cute little dispenser has come in handy for tons of other things besides diapers. It's easy to reach for in the car if you need a garbage bag, or clothes that baby has messed up.

I got mine for $3.99 at my local store and a pack of 3 bag refills for $3.99. Great price!

Elisha's Essentials

So far, in my first few days of being a mother, I have found my first "couldn't live without" product. The AlwaysClean Pacifier by BebeSounds. The pacifier will automatically close if the baby drops it our of his or her mouth, or if momma accidentally drops it. This protects the pacifier nipple from getting dirty and unsanitary for baby which helps save mommy some time.

This pacifier also locks shut for easy travel. The handle comes down and snaps onto the sides of the closed pacifier. It is SO easy to just throw it in your purse or diaper bag and it is ready to use when arriving at your destination, no cleaning necessary.

I found it for $3.99 at Motherhood Maternity.
