Sexy Mama Saturday's!

I got to sleep in until 9:10am today - how amaaazing was it, you ask? AMAZING! But normally, I wake up around 5am with 5-6 hours of sleep. Many of you get even less, or when I pull my all nighters for homework and exams - I look a HOT mess!

I purchased the Garnier Nutritioniste Skin Renew Daily Eye Roller at Target for $11.99. This roller claims to diminish dark circles and get rid of puffiness under your eye.

I've been using it for about 3 weeks now and to my surprise, it really works. Even if I didn't have time for a full face of makeup in the morning, using this eye roller after washing my face really helped me look more awake and refreshed. The cold metal ball that rolls across your under eye helps great with the puffiness. If you live in a warmer climate, leaving it in the fridge would help it stay cold. It's just a quick swipe from the inner corner to the outer corner of your under eye and it's done. Within 5 minutes it's a noticeable difference.

This is a great product to really help freshen up your eyes when you're in a time crunch. For only $11.99 and it will last for months. Garnier even offers an eye roller with a bit of tint in it to help conceal at the same time. I have not tried this one yet but as soon as I do, I will be sure to review it :)

First Birthday Planning

Hey all!
Sorry I was MIA for a few days, got really busy trying to plan Jaliyah's birthday party. I know it's 2 months away but I will be getting busy with finals at school (then I'll have my associates!) next month and work and blah blah so I wanted to get a jump start on it. Sexy Mama Saturday's will be back in 3 days.

So the theme of the party is cupcakes. I know, I know, everyone says I'm crazy for having a themed first birthday. People keep saying "she's not going to remember or know whats going on." Well guess what - I'll remember it and will have pictures to show and that's just how I am. I LOVE LOVE LOVE planning parties.

I have the plates and balloons ready to be ordered - I'll be ordering those next week and I will show you at all when it comes.

I got the invitations made and ordered yesterday. I got them off of http://www.etsy.com/people/ShutterbugSentiments. It's so cool because its a one time price (mine was $16) but there are cheaper and more expensive ones. Then a digital file is sent to you and you can print them from your home computer or local store. How coooooooooool is that?!


Soooo stinkin' cuuuute! (I erased out my address and phone number for obvious reasons)

I got the clubhouse paid for to hold all 50 people coming that my little townhouse won't hold. Next is figuring out the food, ordering supplies/tableware/tablecloths/balloons/birthday outfit!

Foggy mom brain

It's 7:30am and I haven't been to sleep yet. Jaliyah woke up around 6:30am so we came downstairs to watch some cartoons and have a bottle. I just bought a scale last night to keep track of my weight loss. I weighed myself last night and just out of curiosity I get on the scale this morning when we came downstairs. I looked down at the dreadful number and...

..it was UP 22 lbs!!!!!!!!! wtf!!!

I was so distraught - what the hell did I eat to gain 20 some pounds in a day?! I kept stepping off and back on to the scale, kicked the scale a couple times and almost shed some tears.

..then I realized I was still holding Jaliyah while I was getting on the scale...hence the 22 lbs...

ugh..I need to go to sleep.

Personally, I think the most important part of my make-up routine are my eyes. Making the eyes pop and defined makes you look more awake. But with my limited schedule in the morning, I do not have time to search for all the colors and spend 10 minutes doing my eyeshadow. I have found that NYX cosmetics offers the best solution and have become my preferred makeup brand. NYX sells trio eye shadow's. They sell over 10 different color combination's, some are grouped to be used together, and some are not.

This palette is the Aloha/Mink Brown/Deep Bronze palette from NYX. This trio gives a great natural eye. Using Aloha over the lid, Mink Brown in the crease and the Deep Bronze in the outer 'V' of your eyelid. The colors are in order by which goes on first to which goes on last - this helps save time. And yes folks, I did that in about 4 minutes.


These two trio palette's are also good options. I use the pink palette on a regular basis, it gives a natural look with a little color. Again, each of these trio's are in order from lid color to outer 'V' color.

Online Family Organizer

We got about a foot of snow last night into today, so it's a snow day from work for me! I'll be spending it cuddled up with Jaliyah. Poor thing is sick, she has a nasty cough and this morning has a fever of 99. Going to make sure she gets extra fluids today and got some saline drops for her. Anyone else have a snow day?
